This wonderfully amusing carving has lovely inlaid turquoise eyes. The beautiful Baltic amber beads are almost weightless making this a very easy piece for anyone to wear.

The stegosaurus is one of the most recognizable dinosaurs, a roughly bus-sized herbivore of the late Jurassic, 155 to 145 million years ago. Most fossils are from North America, though one was recently found in Portugal as well. The remarkable plates on the creature's back may well have served a protective function and may also have been used in display behavior and thermoregulation. Though not a traditional fetish animal, we could safely assign it the attribute of self defense.

Amber brings light, warmth and solar energies to the wearer. It is associated with the third chakra, the solar plexus. Amber is fossilized botanic resin, and as it often contains ancient trapped plants, pollen and insects it is an apt choice for a dinosaur carving. Baltic amber, the finest, formed from resins of coniferous trees growing 30 to 60 million years ago. The Egyptians had amber beads 4,500 years ago. Amber is said to be a key to ancient knowledge and can assist in past life exploration.

LOVE BEADS: This piece includes "love beads," beads given to me after the fire by friends and strangers. The necklace carries the energy of their loving concern.
